Our masks are designed and produced by renown designer David Avido (featured above in Vogue) at his workshop in Kibera, Nairobi, Kenya. Kibera is the largest urban slum in Africa and thus is teeming with art, creativity, and life. From the heart of Kibera, surrounded by over 1,000,000 people confined in Kibera’s 2.5 square kilometers, David and his team create these masks out of kitenge - traditional East African fabric.

Brian traveled to meet David at his workshop in Kibera to meet the team of tailors who made the collection of masks now available.
