Last night, I decided I wanted to experience the life of s street child; even if only for a night. I decided I wanted to sleep in the street with the kids. Of course, the first thing people say when you reach Kenya is: don’t talk to the street kids, and don’t go out at night. In one swift move, I was able to break both of those guidelines.
Sidewalk by day, bed by night. Here is a portion of sidewalk where over 20 street children, aged 5 to 14, sleep. You can see me in the photo (you can see my white leg, my big butt, and the side of my face, against the wall of the building). I slept there all night.
